Sophia is a passionate Christ lover, daily pursuing the practice of full dependence and devotion to God and His word. Sophie is an intentional wife to Simon Mbevi and intentional mother to two daughters & a son.
She is a professional Language Arts teacher by training, calling, gifting and passion. She wants to be remembered as one whom God used as a catalyst for lasting, personal transformation and spiritual formation of the whole person, especially children and the young, and those who influence them – including but not limited to parents, caregivers, and teachers.
Sophia obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Education) from the Kenyatta University and Masters of Arts (Education Leadership) from Pan Africa Christian University.
Sophia has served as the founding director of Almasi International Christian School based in Syokimau, Machakos County. She also serves as training and resource development consultant alongside her husband at Transform Nations. She has co-authored two books – Mothers of Sons: ‘Nurturing Boys into Real Men’, a parenting manual for mothers and Ezer: ‘Reveal the Woman Within’ which is about understanding Biblical femininity.
Sophia was one of the founding team members of Mavuno Church. She served in Mavuno as a as a key facilitator of the Ombi: Prayer Adventure experience and later as the head of family ministries – under which the Ndoa - (marriage) and Lea (parenting) training experiences were offered. Additionally, she and her husband served on the inaugural Mavuno Movement Elders Court.
Sophia also serves as adjunct faculty under the doctoral teaching fellowship at the Africa International University where she is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in Educational Leadership and Administration.
