Matrid Nyagah

Matrid Nyagah is a holder of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and Film Technology from Kenyatta University. She successfully participated in and graduated from the Film-Pro East Africa Lab for Creative Producing in 2019/2020. She also graduated from FilmAkademie Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany in the winter semester of 2020/2021 with a higher diploma in Film. While there she produced and directed her short virtual reality film ‘In My Head’ on mental health, and also produced an award-winning short film ‘Lauf.’

She has also graduated from Fearless Institute, a one-year leadership course designed and facilitated by Mavuno Church. Matrid is a mentor, trainer, author, hotelier, producer, director and production consultant.

She is the co-founder and executive director of Fearless Films Limited, and also the founder of Dada Trust- a non-profit organisation that supports and celebrates women in the arts. On top of that, she runs the Udada International Women’s Film Festival. Matrid is also a narrative film and documentary producer with fourteen years’ experience in production, and was one of the production managers of the documentary ‘SOFTIE' which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020.

She was Service Producer for the Hamburg Media School (HMS) production ‘Watu Wote’, which won Best Narrative Short at the Student Academy Awards in 2017, and was Oscar-nominated for Best Live Action Short Film in 2018. She has produced and directed a virtual reality short film with scientists from Kenya Medical Research Institute., and recently produced an international short film ‘Where The River Divides’ which is currently in post-production.


The Fearless Summit is hosted and convened by Mavuno Church, a non-denominational church whose headquarters is in Nairobi, Kenya. Their mission is turning ordinary people into fearless influencers of society.
