Joanne is the Communications and Membership Manager at Amnesty International Kenya where she provides leadership on communications, campaign strategy & movement building. She is also a project consultant for New York based social impact organisation Hive and under the hashtag #Better4Kenya seeks to amplify conversations around gender equality.
Joanne sits on the board of Kenya and Zambia based NGO 'Freely in hope' that equips survivors and advocates to lead in ending sexual abuse. Joanne is irked by social injustice and is committed to speaking up and speaking out against human rights violations. She is a regular commentator on policy issues in Kenyan print and broadcast media.
She is an avid reader with a penchant for fiction.
