Bishop John Bankosky Kitonga

Bishop John Bankosky Kitonga's life unfolds as an extraordinary tapestry, woven with the threads of faith, family, education, entrepreneurship, and an unwavering commitment to ministry.
Bishop John has a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts, USA and a Bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in Marketing and Management. He is married to Faith Wanjiru since 2004.
Professionally, Bishop John's has a wealth of experience as a customer service associate at Eastern Bank and also has entrepreneurial experience where he founded JK Trucking Inc in 2005.
Thereafter Bishop John embraced the call to ministry at RGC Huruma church, initially serving as a pastor-in-training under the guidance of the Senior Pastor. In 2011, he assumed the role of the pastor in charge of finance while concurrently managing Bishop Kitonga Academy and RGC Computer College. The administrative leadership baton was passed to him in 2013, a responsibility he handled with diligence and vision. His education and business acumen played a pivotal role in implementing effective structures, leading to the exponential growth of both the academy and the computer school.
Bishop John's assumed leadership roles as the chairman of Redeemed Theological College, chairman of RGC Huruma Sacco, and Former chairman KCA (Kiseve Cousins Association), Board member Kwakoko SecondarySchool, Kithimani and Secretary of Wageuzi Basketball Team. Additionally, he served as the treasurer of Pastors' Kid's Fellowship-Kenya, a testament to his commitment to fostering community among pastors' children. His influence expanded as a member of the RGC Nairobi Region/Sub-region board and the Area Leader of Huruma, overseeing seven churches.
In 2019, the Nairobi North Region was created and Bishop John was appointed as the Regional Bishop. The Region began with 112 Churches and by the grace of God it has grown to over 150 churches. This Region extends from Ruiru to Bomet and Bishop John together with his committee have visited 98% of the churches, dedicating the altars and praying for the local pastor, his board and the members present. It is through these visits that he has been able to identify the needs of churches and consequently organise assistance such as buying land, donating building materials and distributing podiums in his region and beyond. Nairobi North has benefitted from his wise leadership by developing the 'Redeemism' manual where the entire Region was trained and graduated.
Bishop also organised the ordination and consecration of Pastors and Reverends in his region. It is during his tenure that he appointed a regional committee to develop an ordinance book that seeks to assist Pastors in performing their duties such as Holy Communion, children dedication, weddings, burials among others. This booklet is complete and it currently being translated into Swahili to make it relevant locally. Bishop John recognises and acknowledges and salutes mentors who have contributed to his life's journey. His commitment to standing with his roots and continuing to uphold the values instilled by his parents is a pledge that echoes throughout his narrative.
