Nelson C. Kuria – CEO, Co-operative Insurance Company of Kenya – A Christian leader in the corporate sector who transformed CIC in less than ten years from the bottom five bracket to the top ten bracket through his strategy of embracing “servant leadership” which emphasized the fact that employees are servants and not masters of the customers. Mr. Kuria was awarded the Order of Grand Warrior (OGW) in 2005 by the government of Kenya for his effort in turning around the company and a commitment towards the growth of the Co-operative Movement.

Kwame Rubadiri

Malawian by birth although he spent most of his life in Kenya, Rev. Kwame is an associate pastor at Second Baptist Church, a large church in Atlantic City, New Jersey and is also a church fund-raising consultant with Impact Stewardship, with whom he has helped coach over 30 churches as they set out to raise large sums of money for their vision.

Re. Kwame is mariied to Emmy, and together they have two daughters, all settled in the United States.

Stephen Beck

Stephen Beck (Germany) is a career church planter. An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church of America, he returned in 2005 to the country of his youth, Germany, as a missionary with Greater Europe Mission. Until 2005, he planted churches in the USA and Toronto, Canada, and has been part of a global urban church planting network out of the Redeemer Church in New York City. He is considered “cutting edge” in regard to church planting and multiplication in Europe. He is also Professor of Practical Theology at the Freie Theologische Hochschule in Giessen, Germany. He has also been guest lecturer at a number of institutions on the European continent, is the Europe director for the “City Mentoring Program”, the senior director for the new European Institute for Church Planting and Church Growth, and most recently the senior pastor planter of Church For All Nations in the city of Frankfurt, where together with 30 of his seminary students he is shaping a multi-site, multi-cultural, multi-lingual church community that focuses on the plight of the immigrant. Stephen has been married to Susan for 34 years. They have four children

Kenton Beshore

Kenton Beshore (USA) is senior pastor of Mariners Church, a multi-site, non-denominational church in Irvine, California where he has served as senior pastor since 1984. His education includes a MA from Talbot Seminary and the Institute of London where he studied with Dr. John Stott.

Kenton loves the privilege of being a pastor. His greatest joy is being with people at defining moments of their lives. He teaches God’s Word by filtering it through his life and applying it in practical ways.

Kenton lives in Corona del Mar, California with his wife, Laurie. They have been married for 34 years and have four sons, one daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.

LV Hanson

LV Hanson’s name really is LV, it’s not an abbreviation! (he has a brother named DR). A University of Colorado alum, the 6’5” LV has lived all over the world, and played professional volleyball in Slovenia. He spent the last 4 years traveling extensively throughout the United States serving as the national ambassador for Catalyst, a movement of next generation leaders in the church. In June of 2011 LV transitioned from Catalyst to join the staff team at Mariners Church as Pastor of Care and Recovery.

Having worked as a management consultant for over fourteen years, Laimani has interacted with women in the corporate, humanitarian and public sectors of society. She is therefore well versed with the quiet innermost struggles of most people, who may appear to have it all together, but are struggling to answer the question, who am I? A mother, a wife and a friend, Laimani is the Founder and Lead Coach of Alabastron Network Trust.

Ken Kamau

Ken is a graduate of the Pan African Christian University, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Bible & Theology. He has extensive ministry experoience after serving at churches such as Deliverance Church in both Nakuru, Lang’ata and eventually Ongata Rongai. He later joined the Nairobi Chapel team in 2005 as Youth Pastor in the Waiyaki Way Church plant. He currently serves as the senior pastor of Kileleshwa Covenant Community Church (K3C), and loves reading, sports and driving long distances. He is married to Ruth Wacuka, who also serves on the K3C staff team, and together they have five-year old son Nathan Kamau.

Antony Njoroge

Antony holds a Bachelors of Art, Bible and Theology, and has served on the Mavuno Church staff since 2007. He initially served as the Pastor for Greenhouse (Kid’s church), overseeing a period of tremendous growth in the children’s ministry, and later transitioned to be the pastor for small groups and community penetration. He is extremely passionate about prayer, and has been a facilitator for various prayer cirriculums. He is also passionate about discipleship. He is currently preparing to set off later in 2011 to be the lead pastor for Mavuno’s upcoming church plant in Lusaka, Zambia. Antony is married to Miriam Kigwi and together they have a beautiful baby boy, Lemayian Kigwi.

Sophie Mbevi

Sophie is a graduate of Kenyatta University (BEd) and has a masters in Leadership from Pan African Christian University. She served with Teachers Service Commission and Accelerated Christian Education program for two years before leaving to join her husband, Pastor Simon Mbevi in church planting and prayer training and mobilization. She was part of the pioneer team that planted Mavuno Church. She currently heads the Family Ministries department at Mavuno under which the programs NDOA (marriage counselling) & LEA (parenting) run. Simon and Sophie have been married fourteen years with three children: Covenant, Promise & Beracah.

Maggie Gitau

Maggie Gitau is a graduate of the University of Nairobi, B.Ed (Linguistics and Literature) and MA-Missions from NEGST. She served with a Chinese Church in Nairobi for four years before transitioning to serve with Pastor Oscar Muriu of Nairobi Chapel in 2006. Currently she serves as the Research Assistant for the senior Pastor at Mavuno. Maggie has been involved in numerous mission trips both locally and internationally. She is passionate about enabling the African church to rise and take its place in local and global mission.
