How desperate is the need in your city? How much have individuals and families in and around you been affected by the corruption, greed and decadence of our society? How tired are you of feeble and ineffective attempts to rein in the depravity we are daily confronted with in our cities?

Just as every individual person has a purpose and a destiny, so it is with every city. Every city, every province and every nation, whether large or small, is designed to fulfil a purpose. We believe the key to actualizing that purpose is found within the walls of the church. Listen to the insightful words of Jesus, spoken to Peter; “I will build my church…and the gates of hell will not prevail against it”. Jesus was really saying that the potential to change individuals, transform families, impact society, and ultimately change our cities, is found in our churches.

How then do we unlock that potential? How do we change our churches from places that meet the needs of a faithful few into powerful forces that can sweep a wind of change over our cities? How can we make our communities places where each person is empowered to demonstrate the kind of action-oriented faith that transforms our churches into city-impacting communities that affected every sphere of our society.

How do we infiltrate every sector, whether it be government, healthcare, education, media/arts, family, social justice, business & economy, and the environment to build a common understanding that God’s presence can make a difference in the moral, spiritual, economic, and social climate of our cities.

2012 FEARLESS SUMMIT

Mavuno Church has put together the annual FEARLESS SUMMIT to bring together some of the best spiritual and professional leadership minds to intentionally talk about the future of our Churches. We want to provide a bold platform for discerning church leaders to search for ways to ensure that our nations and indeed out continent will be firmly rooted in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ now and for generations to come.

THE 2012 FEARLESS SUMMIT runs from the 4th to the 6th of July 2012. Our theme for 2012 is “MISSION POSSIBLE: The Church Can Change The City”

At the Fearless Summit, you will get to:

* Network and engage with bold church leaders from Nairobi and beyond eager to change their cities – these include Pastor Oscar Muriu of Nairobi Chapel, Pastor Muriithi Wanjau of Mavuno Church, Pastor Simon Mbevi of Transform Kenya amongst many others.

* Participate in Labs (workshops) and group sessions that cover a range of topics including Technology, Worship , Branding Your Church, Teaching For Life Change, Raising Money For Your Vision among others

* Ask and answer questions regarding reaching Nairobi’s Young Urban Professionals; a large and thriving demographic that is becoming increasingly influential, well-networked and well-resourced, but mostly marginalized by the church.

* Engage in a showcase of new and cutting edge ministry initiatives likely to revolutionize how church is done in Nairobi

* Understand the resource models that would fuel growth for the Next Generation Church.
