Rina Hicks is a Corporate Finance Analyst and the Operations Director at Faida Investment Bank. She holds an MBA degree from Strathmore Business School, a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in Finance and Marketing from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia and sat for CFA ® Level II in 2007. She is a SITI (Securities Industry Training Institute) Certified Trainer by the Nairobi Securities Exchange and has been involved in several corporate advisory projects.
Rina previously served as a Board Member of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund (2006-2009) where she was involved in setting up the structures and mechanisms of disbursements of loans to entrepreneurial youth all over Kenya. She also served as a Board Member of Enablis East Africa, a Canadian-based not-for-profit organization that supports entrepreneurs in the developing world through its member-driven network, called Enablis Entrepreneurial Network. Enablis exists to nurture and provide mentorship, training and networking opportunities to entrepreneurs.
Rina is a Finance Coach, working with individuals, groups and corporates. She is a prolific writer, and is the author of the book Money-Wise: Create, Grow & Preserve Wealth (2016) Integrity Publishers, U.S.A. In her view, many professionals struggle with managing their finances and is therefore on a mission to demystify investing, saving and financial planning. Her desire is to propel Africans to greater heights in the management of their finances, creating nations of financially secure families.
Rina is married with three children. Her hobbies include reading, dancing, swimming, running, watching theatrical productions, and spending time outdoors with her family.
